No matter what’s happening right now, no matter what you’re dealing with, say thank you.
If you’re awake/conscious enough to read these words, you have something to say thank you for.
Even if you don’t think you have something to be thankful for, chances are you have even more things to say thank you for.
When things are good, say thank you.
When things are GREAT, say thank you.
When things are bad, say THANK YOU.
It’s easy to count our blessings and say thank you in good times, but it isn’t easy when we’re in struggle to say thank you. And sometimes, even harder to mean it.
But, say it, even if you don’t mean it at first.
Say it even if you don’t yet understand why you should. Say it anyway. Thank you.
We have all the blessings we have because we appreciated them. And that’s how we keep them.
But, funnily enough, it’s also the quickest way to get through the hardest times.
Saying thank you, moves you toward what you would be thankful for, even if you don’t understand how.
“Be content with what you have, rejoice in the way things are. When you realize there is nothing lacking, the whole world belongs to you.”
Lao Tzu
Say Thank You.
When you say “thank you” for your struggle or upset, your mind will begin giving you clues as to how this is going to be of benefit. You don’t have to figure it out. You can’t figure it out, certainly from the space of experiencing the problem.
But, you can say thank you, and that will start you down the beautiful path of understanding.
Even IF it is only to see that we don’t like a particular thing or behavior and will henceforth discontinue use of or association with said thing or behavior. “GREAT! Thank you. I mean that. Thank you for the information. I was on the fence before, but NOW, I get it. Thank you struggle. Thank you upset. You have given me the most powerful information I could ask for.”
Now, don’t use this opportunity to make someone bad or wrong. Just decide it’s not for you and go in a different direction. No need to fight, yell or cuss. “Oh, hey, this is NOT for me, great, Thank you.” (The advanced work is now questioning where this need to continually blame other’s and hold grudges comes from… hmmmmm?)
As a Conscious Creator… there is no need to be mad about it or try to force change. Appreciate it as the good information it provided and move on. Yes, please and thank you. For the rest of your life. Rinse and repeat. Forever and ever. Amen.
What sucks in your life today that you can start saying thank you for?
How wonderful will it be when you gain the peace and mental clarity around your particular situation that will allow you to then issue a true, heartfelt and hearty THANK YOU? Whew! What a relief. Yes, please and thank you.
I love this part. It always happens, once I’ve moved through my initial upset and kneejerk response. We’re human after all. Getting mad at ourselves over our habitual responses just adds to the time it takes to move through the energy. Endeavor to let that go as soon as possible.
And as you do, your “habitual responses” will shift as well. You’re less disturbed by others out of alignment (people that do bad/dumb/mean things) and you begin to support the shift of the whole toward more love, cooperation and harmony.
You’ve got enough to deal with. There’s enough on your plate. Let yourself off the hook first. Then let everyone else in the world off the hook. Bless all hearts.
As we move into the holiday season, I want to remind you that Thanksgiving can be every day. Just without all the cooking and clean up. And when it is you’ll find you have more and more to be thankful for.
Shifting the energy and feeling the peace of 10 Zen monks is actually attainable… without spending 40 years in a cave. You only need be willing to let shit go and say thank you.
