Teacher Appreciation Week

Teacher Appreciation Week

How about EVERY DAY?

Lord. Bless us every one and especially our teachers.

I always appreciated teachers when my son was in school but I recently gained a whole new level of respect for them.

While I absolutely LOVE my son, there was no way I could spend 24 hours a day with him, much less with hundreds of other children. I didn’t have the patience.

Not only do our teachers teach their specific subject or grade, they support, guide and love our kids. Everyone’s kids. They deal with our happy, sad, hyper, sleepy, irritated, irritating, smart mouthed, bored, sweet children daily. And they put up with some parents that can sometimes lose their minds and forget what a blessing teachers are.

A teacher has the patience of Job and the heart of a lion. It takes courage and dedication to do what they do every single day. Then, they go to their own home, children and families to keep their own lives running on track. Feeding their families and sometimes themselves, maybe getting in some quiet time for themselves, but usually not.

Teachers spend home time working on school projects and thinking about lesson plans and standardized testing. On their hearts are the kids in their classes that don’t have great home lives and might not get good healthy home-cooked food or receive the love and attention they so desperately want and need from their busy parents.

Thank you, Teachers. Thank you. For being there daily, we know you are and we appreciate you.

I worked with around 100 kids at Blanco Middle school during April to help them mentally, emotionally and physically prepare for the STAAR Testing. The two days I spent at the school left me exhausted. I drove home each day alternately laughing and crying over what I had experienced. The sharing and interactions, laughter and a few tears.

It’s always interesting trying to keep their attention and share with them valuable information that will support them throughout their lives. I’m so happy to give them information I really needed at that age.

People that act ugly are hurting.

People, even adults, don’t always know how
to handle situations properly.

Parents and teachers love you and
do the best they can for you.

You are not your thoughts.

Your brain is pre-programed to focus on what’s wrong
and holds on to your failures far longer that your successes.

You can reprogram your brain.

Your thoughts can only go the direction of your feelings
in any given moment.

Breathe deep and relax, let the feeling pass and you’ll have
access to more supportive thoughts.

Be your own best friend.

Be good to yourself and others.

Take care of your body and it will take care of you.

In the follow-up visit I got such a great response. They had used the techniques I taught them and shared them with teachers, family and friends. Students reported feeling more calm and had avoided fights with siblings and parents. I was so thrilled. They were listening.

These kids are listening. They will take the love and support of whomever will give it to them. Teachers, thank you for giving it to them.

Please, please, please, do something nice for you. Take care of yourself. Schedule yourself time to exercise, read a book for pleasure, meditate, get a massage or take a long walk or luxurious bath. Get a great robe and thick soft towels. Use soothing and uplifting scents and lotions. Drink hot tea or a refreshing beverage. Eat healthy and delicious food. Help yourself recover your precious energy daily by taking care of yourself physically. You give so much to others, but you must take care of yourself.

As a parent I remember feeling completely overwhelmed many times and thanking the good Lord above that my child went to school. I was so glad to have my work day. You are there for them daily, teaching them academically, guiding, supporting and showing them how to be good human beings.

It takes a very special person to be a teacher and I am sending each of you my biggest, most heart-felt, loving and supportive hug. I appreciate you. So many people appreciate you. One of these days, very soon, your salary will reflect that.

Times are changing and the more we hold you up and the more you soothe and support yourself, envisioning better pay and more resources, these things will happen. I’m holding the vision of teachers having rock star, super athlete status and esteem. You already have it in my eyes.

Have you appreciated a teacher today?

Giving Thanks for Peace

Happy Thanksgiving! I hope your day was filled with warmth, good food, good company and loving family of all kinds.

I am thankful for the love of my family and friends, my happiness and the peace in my heart.

Although our lives may never be exactly what we want, things are always shifting and changing. New opportunities and blessings present themselves as surely as we stumble across old challenges.

My deep peace comes from my knowledge of how the world works, my ability to not take everything I think seriously and knowing how to let myself feel what I feel without struggle. I know nothing lasts long if I don’t resist it and saying three magic words can change everything. Yes & Thank you.

It’s relatively simple but can be difficult to accept if we’ve spent our lives…reacting to every situation, blaming others for our unhappiness and misfortune, beating ourselves up for every tiny mistake we think we’ve made or thinking someone was “out to get us.”

I can relate to all of it. That was how I lived for a while. It was all I knew. Reacting to life. Recognizing I had control and learning to exercise that control was difficult and heart-wrenching before I learned the true secret to letting life be easy.

Here’s to living each day, appreciating the wonderful people, circumstances and opportunities that constantly surround us. They are always there, we just sometimes get side-tracked by things that worry and scare us.

If you’d like to feel more peace in your heart and happiness in your life, I can help. Click the links below to purchase and send me an email to schedule. Crystal@CrystalNuding.com

Give the lasting gift of peace this season.

“Stuff” is nice but, happiness, health and abundance, the natural by-products of true and lasting peace make life a delicious dream.

All my love,
Crystal

Weekly Photo Challenge – Unexpected

One morning at the lake, Dionne brought me a cup of coffee. We relaxed and enjoyed the morning.

Just relaxing with a cup of coffee...

Relaxing with a cup of coffee enjoying the morning

Imagine my surprise when I saw this peeking up at me through my coffee.

Unexpected Visitor (1 of 2)

It’s nice and warm in here!

It's getting a little chilly...

It’s getting a little chilly…

This was my favorite coffee cup that I went for every morning at the lake. Our last visit, I got the news that my little friend is no longer with us. I’m so happy I have the pictures!

Here’s to great coffee, unexpected companions and morning conversations!

It’s pretty darn wet and chilly in my part of the world. I’m sending you all the warmth of love and compassion as you get ready to host or travel for Thanksgiving.

Blessings, soothing, peace, ease and flow to you today and everyday!

Love you so much!

Crystal

Weekly Photo Challenge – Habit

Oh La Fonda….
How do I love thee?

La Fonda Chips & Salsa - CrystalNuding.com for Personal and Business Consulting

My most important food group.

Let me count the ways.
One, two, three, four, five, six…
Well, hell. It’s a lot!

La Fonda Chicken Flautas! - CrystalNuding.com for Personal and Business Consulting

And the winner is… Chicken Flautas!

This is a weekly habit for Dionne and I. We are never disappointed.

We love the food and the people. We’ve been eating at La Fonda for the past 10 years. It’s a favorite spot that makes me happy just driving there. When we walk in everyone says hi and Sylvia brings out what she already knows we want. We’ve shared this treasure with everyone in our family and anyone that comes to visit. It’s top of the list when folks come to stay with us.

When we order breakfast tacos through the drive through on a week-end morning most times they’ll say… “Is this for Crystal?”

To which I reply… “You know it!”

If you’re driving down I-35 through San Marcos, TX and need your Mexican food fix…. I highly recommend checking out the LF. You can thank me later.

Weekly Photo Challenge – Horizon

Clouds

Just up the road to the river…

That beautiful sky was our view driving up to our favorite spot on the Guadalupe river.

Heaven is a place on earth.

Heaven is a place on earth.

Heading home we were treated to a magnificent rain storm and a full double rainbow.

Note: If you’ve seen the youtube video of the guy filming the double rainbow you get somewhat of an idea how I was reacting. It was amazingly beautiful and I was beside myself. I have no shame.

OMG. It's a FULL Double Rainbow!!

OMG. It’s a FULL Double Rainbow!!

Rainbow Horizon

The rain slowed so I could roll the window down.

Full Rainbow Horizon

I could see the whole rainbow, end to end.

These shots were taken with my cell phone from the car with me turned completely around in the passengers seat.

It was a beautiful site to behold and I am so happy I witnessed it and now get to share it with you.

Seven Day Challenge

Cactus FlowerSome big changes are on the horizon for us. Perhaps for you as well. Maybe things in your life still look like they have looked for a quite a while, but do you feel the change in the air? Notice the change in the air is actually your recent desire for something better.

Whether or not you’re able to see and touch your coming manifestation makes no difference. When you feel it coming is when you start getting excited. Don’t worry so much about what’s around you at the moment. Your job, car, money or relationship situation is only temporary, certainly the way you feel about it is. Big change is on the horizon, all you have to do is relax and be on the lookout, ready to receive it.

How does this work? How do you relax and receive something you can’t see, taste, touch or smell? Well, you’ll start with doing some things to move yourself toward what you want.

My partner, Dionne and I have started a Seven Day Challenge. The premise is this, do the small things you can do to make yourself and your surroundings feel even better before what you want actually shows up. Prepare yourself and your space to receive whatever it is you’re looking for.

Ok, you ask, so change is coming and I’m definitely ready for it, but what can I do to physically move myself toward something unknown and abstract?

To help yourself focus forward on what is coming and let go of the old (you’re ready to see gone,) begin consciously doing things to make your life better and commit to do it for seven days.

Below is a list of four easy things to begin moving you toward a much more satisfying life. Do one or more things on the list every day for seven days. Do at least one per day, but if you do more you will definitely notice a bigger difference. The point of this is to take small, easy steps, so do what feels best and easiest to you. If it’s easy, you’ll do it.

  • Move (your body)
  • Meditate (to clear your mind)
  • Purge (to rid your space of unwanted/unnecessary objects)
  • Organize (to create the harmony in your environment you want in your life)

You may already do these things periodically but doing them often with mindfulness changes everything.

Move – What feels good to you? What do you enjoy? Find an activity and a friend to share it with. It’s more fun with a friend and when you don’t have the motivation they will. Don’t look at what other people do and achieve. Do what feels easiest and best to you in the moment. Dance to music in your living room, chase your dog around your yard, whatever you want, just move and breathe.

Meditate – Spend 5-30 minutes daily sitting quietly. Sit in a comfortable place with your feet flat on the floor, hands comfortably in your lap, take a few deep breathes and then allow yourself to really relax. Let your thoughts roll by (without following them) and just notice how they make you feel. Are you reminding yourself of obligations or deadlines? Are you worrying about an upcoming event? Our brain is like a computer, it’s an excellent tool, but don’t let it run your life. It’s subject to previous programs that are no longer the latest, greatest, updated information. Garbage in, garbage out. Once you begin to recognize the general direction your mind takes, you can re-direct it, but before that happens it’s all too easy to be terrorized and bullied by a busy and negatively focused mind.

Purge – We all have junk we don’t need. Drawers of crap or whole areas of your house that are filled with things someone else needs and could use. If you don’t use it, want it or if it doesn’t make your heart sing, get rid of it. Every object in your home holds energy. Clearing your space not only feels better physically, it is also making the space vibrationally for things you truly want. Donate clothes and shoes to local shelters or non-profits that help folks. Have a garage sale, pay someone to come haul off your old stuff or sell it on eBay. All of the extra stuff cluttering your space could be used and greatly appreciated by someone else. You’ll feel lighter and lighter as you let go and allow others to appreciate and utilize what is currently cluttering up your space.

Organize – Once you’ve gotten rid of what you don’t want, use or need, you can organize what’s left. Being able to easily access things you want, use and need on a regular basis is an absolute joy and the space you reclaim will feel open and fresh. You don’t have to do the whole thing at one time, start small. When you start small and complete the task you give yourself a boost. Notice what little things you could tweak around your house to make it more user friendly.

Side Note: It was amazing to me how long we kept the tea(daily use item) on a higher shelf in the cabinet than some things I rarely use. I would stretch and reach to get a box and three boxes would come tumbling out on my head. Now I laugh each time I easily reach my tea. Any similar situations in your life?

Key Point – Completing small tasks gives you the impetus to do more. Baby steps are the way to go here. When you try to do the whole thing at once it can be demoralizing when you lose steam mid-way through the project. So pick an area, your junk drawer or the cabinet under your bathroom sink and get started. If you already exercise regularly, do it with greater awareness, focus on each muscle group and see it working better, getting stronger. If you already practice meditation great! Add these activities to your life. If you don’t think you know how to meditate or think you’re doing it wrong, think again. Just sitting quietly for 5 minutes is beneficial. Breathing and pulling yourself out of your busy mind will be a welcome respite that turns into a relaxing habit.

The more you do these things the better other areas of your life will get. Your breathing improves, your balance gets better, the pain in your hip/neck/shoulders eases and you feel stronger and stronger, your health is improving. You’ll notice you want to eat healthier and your old go-to junk food will become distasteful to you. You’ll laugh more and you’ll notice your skin looks better, your eyes brighter. Others will notice this too. The pants that were previously a bit uncomfortable now seem to have plenty of room. The promotion you’ve been deserving at work begins to fall into place and you find the perfect contractor to work on your house. The money to pay for the projects shows up on time so you’re able to enjoy the process rather than worry about how you’re going to pay for it.

We are on day five of our challenge and already things are changing.

Our movement has been yoga and tennis. (We got rackets for Christmas and laugh constantly when we play, we’re not great, but that doesn’t matter.) It is fun and we are feeling so excited about life in general. We are sleeping better and our bodies feel amazing. I feel stronger than I ever have and more peaceful daily. We’ve purged and organized four different areas of our home and yard and are ready for more. It was amazing how many things were out of date and easily thrown away/recycled. Reclaiming our space is truly a joy. Isn’t it fabulous how starting small and doing little things causes such great change?

What will we do at the end of day seven? Keep it going!

Get started today on your own Seven Day Challenge and let me know how things are going.

I am looking for someone to support and chronicle their successes through a series of blog posts. If you’d like it to be you contact me below through this handy dandy contact form. Let me know what you want out of your life and we’ll start moving you that direction.

How can I help you get closer to what you want?

All Is Well

SunflowerDrop the idea that anything is wrong. Relax for a minute.

Ask yourself, “What if everything is perfect right now and this is just where I am on my way to where I’m going?”

All is truly well. We live in a constant current of well-being. It’s all a matter of allowing.

Not a bunch of doing. A relaxing into. Allowing.

Take a deep breathe and begin to notice everything around you that is working perfectly and getting better and better.

You are loved and cared for in ways you can’t see or may not able to imagine. It makes no difference. It’s still there.

I’m seeing your absolute health, happiness, abundance, peace and joy.

Much Love to you,
Crystal

Seasons Change

Our homegrown, organic garlic

Our homegrown, organic garlic

The sun is shining, birds are singing and it’s a beautiful day here in Texas. Plus, we’ve just harvested the first of our garlic. It smells absolutely divine.

I want to rave, rave, RAVE about the weather we’ve been having. My hashtag #MilderTexasWeather has been working out for me. (Please feel free to spread it far and wide!) We’ve had bouts of nice rain and pleasant weather for the past few weeks with more on the horizon. It’s really Spring!

I’m feeling fantastic about what’s happening in the world today. Despite our difficult week last week, I am more and more clear that things are changing for the better.

Of course, we’ll still have the hold-outs that want to say things suck or aren’t changing. Some folks would rather see something bad happen so they can be right, rather than be wrong and admit life is good and everything is actually working out. There will always be small groups of people causing problems long after the majority of folks fully “get” and understand their own personal power and the influence they have over their own worlds.

Patience. It’s all happening.

Everything is beautiful and more and more people are seeing it everyday. Don’t worry too much about the negatively focused or those folks standing on the corner (or blasting FB) with signs that point out and give powerful energy to what they DON’T WANT. Bless them. They know not what they do. They don’t recognize that they, themselves, are adding more and more energy to the terrible, shameful situation they rail so hard against.

I decided years ago that I would much rather be FOR what I WANT than to be against anything I don’t want. And now that I know how our world truly works, I see how well that decision has served me.

I don’t struggle or fight about or against anything. There’s no need. I see something I don’t like and immediately ask myself what I’d prefer. It truly is as simple as that. We do have to allow ourselves to move through any old energy to the contrary that comes up, but it is much easier than trying to physically pound this world into submission.

Recognize now that good always wins and right always comes out on top. In the history of our country and world, right always prevails. Sure there are little pockets of problems, but that is natural. The majority of the people in this world are good and happy people that want to continue living good and happy lives.

If you need help moving through fear or worry, I can help. I will help you find the perspective in every situation that serves and uplifts you. It’s there when you know how to allow it.

Recognize and appreciate your experience of seasons changing. It happens daily.

Call or email me today to schedule a session. Don’t waste another day worrying or waiting for that other shoe to drop. That’s an old conditioned response that can be gone forever.

Life is supposed to be fun and you can start enjoying it today.

Much Love to you,
Crystal

#MilderTexasWeather – RAVE

Rain showers!

Rain showers!

I want to rave about the cooler weather we’re experiencing here in Central Texas!

We spent last Saturday in the yard doing some Spring cleaning and the next day got some really cool weather to make our Sunday cooking even more enjoyable.

This week has been fabulously cool with chances of rain. AND we have more rain in the forecast for the end of this week-end and the first of next week.

I am appreciating deeply the mild temperatures and rain. My garden and the deer that enjoy it will appreciate it as well! wink

Can I get an AMEN!?

We’re taking our weather back people, let’s do it. #MilderTexasWeather

Have a marvelous week-end!

Love you all so much,
Crystal

PS… Feel free to use #MilderTexasWeather to promote better weather here in Texas or a different version for your area. Affecting global climate change starts in our heads. Let’s do it!

Monday Morning Rave!

Spring is coming!

Spring is coming!

Raving is one of the best ways to get more of what you want. Look around you and notice what’s going right in your life. Much more than the little irritations of everyday living, we are surrounded by so much to appreciate.

When you take time out of your day to appreciate what you do have and what is going right for you, your mind gets on the band wagon and starts looking for more and more things for you to appreciate. The very same is true when you find things that irritate you. So be conscious of where you are focusing your attention.

It might take some practice but is well worth the effort. Get started with whatever is in front of you that you can’t imagine your life without. Once you begin to focus on the good stuff it gets easier and easier. You are essentially re-training your brain to focus on the wanted rather than the unwanted. Whatever you focus on, you get. No doubt about it. So start looking for what feels good and you’ll be amazed at what happens.

  1. I first want to appreciate Michelle Dobbins over at http://DailyAlchemy.com/ for featuring me in her blog on Friday. Michelle is a writer, mother and partner to her husband in their HVAC business in Greenville, South Carolina. She is a multi-talented woman and a blessing to everyone in her life. Her questions were so great that I created a FAQ page on my site with them. Thank you, Michelle!
  2. The weather has been absolutely beautiful here in Central Texas. My peach trees have already bloomed and there are tiny baby peaches everywhere. The tender green of the first leaves of spring warm my heart and remind me of the pure perfection of this amazing world we live in. We enjoyed working out in the yard yesterday, raking leaves and picking up the limbs and debris the wind has been blowing around.
  3. I’m looking forward to playing tennis this afternoon. Talk about something to rave about… TENNIS! It’s hilarious because we’re really not very good. But, it is a great workout and we just laugh the whole time.
  4. I LOVE hot tea. Delicious and doesn’t shake me out of my shoes. 🙂
  5. We spent a fantastic day in San Antonio on Saturday which was Texas Independence Day. On the way home, Dionne read (I feel a technology rave coming) to us about the Battle of the Alamo. We both cried and felt such love and appreciation to all of people, Texans and courageous men from all over that fought and died.
  6. Technology. How fantastic is that? We’re driving down the road talking about something(ANYTHING) and someone says, I’ll look it up. Out comes the smart phone and any information you might need is right at your finger tips. Amazing!
  7. I had a 2 hour Skype session with my little sister, Johanna Nuding yesterday. It was so good to see her face and hear of her Italian adventures. We laughed and talked forever. It’s been a while since we’ve gotten to chat and talking on Skype is almost like the being there. I don’t know what I’d do without it. YAY! Thank you technology.
  8. My son is healthy, happy, making grown up decisions and taking care of business. What a blessing! I truly can’t rave enough about that.
  9. I’ve created a Meetup group and we have our first meeting this evening!
  10. My biggest rave is my recognition of how the world works. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I get that what I focus on expands and I create my world on a daily basis. When something shows up I don’t like or appreciate, I say yes and thank you! Thanks for letting me know what I have going on in my vibration. I can feel what it makes me feel without taking it personally or too seriously. My life is my own and I am FREE.
  11. I also want to RAVE about the beautiful birds I get to watch outside my office window. Beautiful red Cardinals and Bluejays are some of my favorites. The joy I experience from just watching them is palpable. Nature is one of our greatest blessings.
  12. I almost forgot to RAVE about the completion of my new eBook 4 Tips for Living a Better Life! You can get it for free when you sign up for my newsletter or it will soon be available for purchase on Amazon Kindle. Plus, my book Navigating Your Life is coming along nicely and I’m feeling great about it. 🙂

Start raving today and see what happens for you.

Much Love,
Crystal

What do you have to rave about?

For everyone that comments with a rave, I’ll put your name in a drawing for a Free Rave or Soothing Session. I’ll draw and announce the results on Friday!
Have a wonderful week!
