Spending time in my garden in the mornings always provides such wonderful insight.
No matter what’s happening in my life Mother Nature soothes and inspires me every time. Even when my first reaction has a negative slant. (This isn’t what I want, this is hard… ya know, that ol’ chestnut!)
As a conscious creator I recognize mental anguish and physical discomfort as an invitation to release myself from a situational (vibrational) loop started by a belief that didn’t serve me.
It’s a powerful thing to understand, which allows us to more easily control our emotions and not be sideswiped by negative mental chatter.
Allowing Support
I’ve been spending a fair amount of time picking off squash vine borer eggs from my squash plants. They are as relentless at leaving them as I am of searching for and picking them off.
But, I’ll tell you. I’m tired. I want to relax. And that gal has no other objective in life than to do what she’s doing. That just feels like an uphill struggle.
So, to more fully support myself and my garden, I’m learning to feed my soil.
I’m taking Dr Elaine’s Soil Foodweb program and am in the process of starting my first (biocomplete!) compost pile so I can make sure the right microbes are in the soil to provide the perfect mix of nutrients my plants need to protect themselves from this sort of attack.
And voila! Nature’s way. Yes, please and thank you!!
We puny humans are no match for Mother Nature so I’m supporting myself by learning how to work in harmony her.
In nature, all systems support each other. Here’s to humanity coming into alignment with this principal and learning how to put it into a sustainable practice.
Reality Check!

As I’m writing this, I’ve run 2 cats and a squirrel (3 times!) out of my garden space. I can’t stop giggling about the irony.
Welcome to humanity, I say.
I’m human! What happens when I’m not looking… happens.
But, If I’m around… I’m going to run out hollering with arms flailing. This is where I am.
When I move the energy around it one of two things will happen… 1) I’ll do something different. Or 2) they’ll stop fucking with my shit. Either way works for me because I’ll feel better first!
I also encourage some things to come into my garden and enjoy themselves… like the two Black Swallowtail caterpillars resting between feasts on my curly parsley.
Aren’t we humans fickle? Rules for some, but not for all?
The trick is to find the value in every single experience and learn for the next opportunity.
We all have different objectives and agendas.
My motto is “For everyone and everything’s highest good. No exceptions.”
And so it is.
Keep Growing!
Another thing I know about Mother Nature’s way is that if we humans just stopped harmful practices, everything would return to balance.
Much like our negative thinking being the only thing that keeps us bumping into things we don’t like or want. It’s only our negative farming and land practices that keep our soil, livestock and human bodies nutrient deficient and depleted. The moment we withdraw our harmful inputs the healing begins again.
As I roam around my garden pulling up baby tree and shrub seedlings that are everywhere, I see how God wants us to just keep moving forward planting our seeds of love, support and connection. Don’t look back at what didn’t materialize or come to full fruition, just keep moving forward planting our seeds.
The moment those seeds put their tiny roots into the soil, they are contributing to the soil community, releasing exudates and calling forth microbes with the sugars it releases from the process of photosynthesis and pulling carbon out of the atmosphere. Super helpful to the soil and all life on Earth.
And the very moment I pull them out of the ground, room is made where the roots have been released which opens the space for more movement through the soil. Oxygen floods into those spaces further supporting healthy microbial life and the plant material is either left in place to provide armor for the soil and further nutrients for the microbes, or put in a compost pile for more of the same. Super helpful to the soil and all life on Earth.
There’s benefit in each scenario. Cool, huh?
It’s About Relationships
No man is an island. No one goes through life alone. We weren’t meant to.
We’re here because of nature, dependent on nature.
In my estimation our ultimate, big picture goal is to live in creative cooperation with one another and all living beings in our environment to create Heaven on Earth.
Plants don’t thrive singularly either. They need their plant community around them, the more diverse the better.
And the microbial life in the soil those plants are living in? They need that same sort of diversity in the life around them, providing the vital, highly bio-available nutrients the plants need, while storing the carbon the plants have pulled from the atmosphere.
It’s amazing! And absolutely beautiful. The perfect system where every “pest” has a purpose and if you’re calling it waste, you just haven’t figure out how to utilize it yet.
LIFE!
Whether what we’re looking at is what we want, or what we don’t want. Our opportunity is right now.
As a conscious creator…
Am I walking my talk?
Am I anchoring in the reality I’d prefer by moving through life in ways that support that?
Or am I acting like there is such a thing as “a problem”?
I get to choose in every single moment.
The time is now.
Take a deep breathe in, audible (Ahhhhh) sigh on the outbreath. Do that a few more times. Feel yourself relax. Allow the mind to come down as well. It’s all energy and it’s all moving.
Quietly connect to that all loving power greater than ourselves. The source of all life.
Ask for higher perspective. Ask for support and inspiration and then, say Thank you!
Now, we listen, in this moment and throughout the day for the answers. The answers will come in the form of feelings, ideas, inspiration, the right person showing up and unexpected opportunities. Be open to them and pay attention to what you’re hearing, noticing and experiencing.
These are super exciting times we’re living in. The shifting of paradigms is intense at times and learning to flow in connection with nature will support you in more ways that you presently know.
Take good care.
I love you so much!
