Allowing Your Initial Reaction

Crystal Nuding Avatar

One of the most important things for us to realize and understand is this… You will always have your “initial reaction” to every situation, thought or circumstance you encounter.

Many times my initial reaction is… “NO! Dang it! That’s not what I wanted.”

But then, after a few breaths and a moment of soothing myself, I suddenly realize maybe it’s not so bad after all. If “this” happens then “that” would become unnecessary or actually easy. Or if I did “that” at another time it would free me up to do “whatever.” You get my point. It’s not a big deal. There are always 1000 other perspectives than the one you are currently viewing your life through.

I tell people in my sessions all the time, “One of two things are going to happen. The situation will completely resolve, or you will feel completely different.” And either way, this is what you want, no? You want things to be different, or you want to feel good about what currently “is”.

If you need help finding a better perspective, get it.

This is your life. Enjoy it!

This is great Crystal, I love how you said that there are 1000 other perspectives than the one we’re currently viewing life through. It sure takes the pressure/resistance off. It’s all about making it right. Thanks for reminding me.

I watched the video on Friday, but today was a great day for a reminder. I’m having my blog moved over to WordPress and it’s been MIA for two days now. When I look for it and it’s not there, my first reaction is “No, this is not good.” Then, my large self says “Hey, these people always do a great job for me, so I’m sure they’ll make it right and I have several other fun projects I’ve been wanting to focus on. It’s all perfect.”

Crystal I love how you and I arrive at the same destination by shining the light on a different aspect. I blogged about giving time for the second or third reaction to come forward – time has that magical benefit of consciousness to it – and you reminded me to not get hung up on that first reaction – yep, it’s gonna be there! I do find though, that the gap gets smaller with practice.

It is wonderful. Yes, ma’am… all it takes is the awareness and a little practice. I’m so enjoying our talks. 🙂 Thank you, Roxanne!
